GO HERE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO IT! Akumal is SOOOOOOOO FREAKING BEAUTIFUL and relaxing. You swim with giant turtles and see other sea life.
It was nice to escape the craziness off Mexico and lay on a beach where children wont piss you off. It really is such a beautiful and relaxing place.
How to get here
We went from Playa Del Carmen to Akumal. This was done on a Colectivo (mini van sort of taxi service thing) that you can easily find in the street. It cost us next to nothing to get here and you only have to walk about 700m to get to Akumal Beach. SUPER easy.
