Absolutely STUNNING! Something a bit different as you are surrounded by rocky mountains. Makarska is a really cool place and should be put on everyone’s list when they visit Croatia.
Things to do:
Markets: Lots of markets in Makarska. We were told to buy our pirate/sailor costumes somewhere other than here because of the price but we found it to be the same price as Dubrovnik. It was cool to walk around and see what the locals were selling.
Cave party: I am not sure if this is just a sail thing but this party went off! Everyone gets dressed up as pirates or sailors and its a great time. It does get super hot though. I ended up leaving and went to a local club which was so much cheaper and a lot of fun!
Explore: The town isn’t anything spectacular but there are some good spots to eat and everywhere you go you can see the beautiful Biokovo Mountain Range. It is just stunning.
